Area: Denver

At least six people were killed, including a police officer, during a mass shooting Monday afternoon at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado. That's according to multiple law enforcement officials briefed on the situation, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The incident, the second mass shooting in the U.S. in the past week, happened just before 3pm local time at the King Soopers Supermarket in Boulder. Officers responded within minutes and quickly entered the store. At a press conference Monday evening, police officials did not share many details. It is not known if the police officer who died was killed during the attempt to breach the store.

A "person of interest," who could be the suspected shooter, is in custody, according to Boulder Police Commander Kerry Yamaguchi. That suspect was hurt at the scene and transported to a local hospital for treatment. It is not clear if it the suspect is the same man who was caught on video earlier being led away by officers in handcuffs, bleeding from an injury.
